CAL AGGIE CRITERIUM
Field size 50+
Zenn Riders Scott Fonseca, Chris Ott, Rich Mader and Rob Cady
After yesterday's competition at Folsom, many riders competing today had tired legs on this brisk last day of Janurary. Safeways squad again out in force with 12 or more riders lining up for the start. Kenetic had good numbers as well along with Ex pro Chad Gerlach riding for Whole Foods.
The race started off with constant attacks as well as more coming with every slight lull in the pace. Scott Fonseca and Chris Ott were very active in either starting moves or marking moves for the whole of the race. Rob Cady was active in the middle through end of the race. All of Zenn was trying to close back the one move we missed all day with 6 riders going off the front including Chad Gerlach, Andres Gil, Matt Ream and 3 other riders. With both Safeway and Kenetic represented in the move there was a lot of riders that weren't going to work to get this move back. Zenn riders Chris, Scott and Rob made several attempts to bridge the gap and pull the group back to no avail thus at the end though the Zenn team was still very aggressive we had miss the move and will look forward to some upcoming events to look for results. Best finisher on the day was Rob Cady in 15th. All the Zenn riders are looking for the podium finishes in this the begining of our 2010 race season. More to come. Next race Cherry Pie Criterium in Napa, CA.
